The Real Cinnamin

I suppose that if you've bothered to view this page, you're interested in the person behind the persona. That would be me, Tara Gann - an ordinary person with a not so ordinary imagination.

Cin on a good dayOn a good day, I look like this ----->

That's a glamour shot I had done a few years back, but at my age, the only thing that changes is how much gray shows in my hair.

Everyday CinOn an ordinary day, it's more like this ----->

This one was taken at Dragon*Con '05 by my friend MastaTek, for the Girls of Dragon*Con.

That was my 6th trip to Dragon*Con, and it just gets better every year. I missed D*C'06, but I made it in '07 & '08. I was also at the very first D*C in 1987 and wow, has the con grown and changed.

Something I'm really proud of tho, is my medal that I won for Wheel of Time trivia at D*C 07. The competition was called 'Beat the Geek' and there were 3 categories; Old Tongue (a language), Geography and Clothing & Customs. I won the Old Tongue category, and came close in Geography.

In Real Life, i'm a 51 year old homemaker, sometime Security Guard. Reading, role-playing, computer graphics and cats are my primary passions, which in many ways I have combined here on my website. I've been reading since before I started school, adopted my first cat at age 12, started role-playing in 1975 and got into computer graphics around 1998.

My first RPG was called Chainmail, which was the predecessor to Dungeons & Dragons. Over the years I have played AD&D, RoleMaster, SpaceMaster, Battletech, Star Fleet Battles, Pirates, DC Heroes, Traveler, MegaTraveler, Vampire: the Masquerade, Vampire: the Requiem, Werewolf: the Forsaken, and Mage: the Awakening. I've designed my own adventures, acted as a Dungeon Master, Gamemaster & Story Teller, created my own monsters, treasures & dungeons and even my own races and realms.

My persona name Cinnamin, has been a nickname of mine since I was 4; I loved cinnamon toast but couldn't pronounce it right; so one of my uncles started calling me Cinnamin and the rest of the family copied him. I joined the online revolution in 1995 on AoL3.0 as XCinnaminX, then changed to Lady Cinnamin when I changed IP's and joined the old Excite Virtual Places Chat. I dropped the 'lady' and added the surname Draconna when I got into the Wheel of Time communities. The only other screen name I use is Glaysha, and only when some form of Cinnamin isn't available.

I started playing online RPG's when I joined VP chat; my first was a Vampire: the Masquerade realm, where my persona Regina Morai was the Brujah Primogen. I ran an award winning Brujah related website for many years, before retiring from the game. Lately tho, I've been more into Wheel of Time communities, which have some RP but are more concerned with making friends and meeting people. Most recently, my obsession is an online pet adoption game called Dragon Cave; you can check it out from my Links section and see my dragon collection in the Dragon Cave section of my website.

Since I've been online, I've almost always had a personal web site. My first site was called Cin's Avatars and Paint Shop; it was VP related. I started out using Homestead, but moved to Tripod when Homestead stopped being free. My second website was called Brujah Haven, still VP related but dedicated to a specific game; Vampire: the Masquerade. Brujah Haven was a very popular site and I won many online awards for the site. Eventually tho, I got tired of the game and retired from playing, at which point I shut down the website. Cinnamin's World is my 3rd and current project, and I've been working on it for several years now, constantly updating and adding new content.

I'll stop rambling now, so you can return to your regularly scheduled web surfing. I hope you have enjoyed my little autobiography, and I hope you are enjoying my site.

Happy surfing,

Tara Gann, aka Cinnamin Draconna
